Gymnastics has been in Mount Gambier  since the 1970s. At this time the YMCA club was formed and some years later the Mount Gambier club evolved.

When the YMCA closed, the club continued but eventually a discussion was had about the need for two clubs in Mount Gambier.

After meetings between the two clubs an amalgamation happened  and then the Blue Lake Gymnastics Club Inc. was formed in May 1996.

The club continued to run from  the existing old YMCA club premises, but it soon became apparent that in order for  the  club to continue to grow and remain strong, a new premises was required.

Long serving members, Anne Fensom (Mount Gambier Club) and Chris Hastie (YMCA Club) worked  on plans for a new building.

After meetings with Greg Muller, Mount Gambier City Council, and Government local member, Rory McEwen, an application for Department of Sports and Recreation grant was submitted.

The grant application was successful, so together with club funds and  Mount Gambier City Council providing a site for the building at Malseed Park, as well earthworks and financial Support  the current facility was built and opened in 1998.

The Club has enjoyed many successes over the years. Amongst those are current and previous coaches who were once gymnasts at the club.

We have a fully equipped gym that offers great space for participants of all ages. It is also used for  Boxing, Jujitsu, Taekwondo, Cheerleading and outside training organisations on a regular basis.

The Club has grown and prospered over the years due in no small way to our  VOLUNTEER coaches and  judges. We thank them for their generosity  over the years, which has allowed us to provide a fully equipped and well maintained facility.

We would also like to thank everyone who has supported the club from the beginning to current day in roles such as sponsors, committee members, helpers at working bees or competitions.

We have a club and facility that we are very proud of and we hope will continue for many years to come.
